Cesa™ Fiber Additives
Light Stabilizers for Synthetic Fibers and Nonwovens
Non UV-stabilized fibers exposed to sunlight can
suffer color fading and molecular changes that
degrade their chemical and mechanical properties,
leading to fraying and breakages.
The Cesa™ Fiber Additives portfolio includes
light-stabilizing and UV-absorbing concentrates
for the spin-dyeing process.
CHEMISTRY
Avient offers different types of light stabilizers for
fiber applications: absorbers, quenchers and HALS
(Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers).

Let’s take a closer look at the differences between the thermoset and thermoplastic polymers that play a critical role in determining the performance characteristics of the final composite product.
Thermoplastics used in making composites range from polypropylene (PP), nylon (PA) and polycarbonate (PC) to polyester, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and polyetheretherketone (PEEK).

OnColor™ Lux Colorants contain phosphorescent
pigments that absorb and store ultraviolet light
and slowly emit the energy, producing a long-lasting
glow.
APPLICATIONS
• Automotive, consumer products, E&E products
• PP, ABS, PC co-polyester, PA6, PA 66, PA12, and
others on request
KEY BENEFITS
• Up to 10 hours glow depending on resin,
activation energy, and pigment loading
• Unlimited repetition of energy accumulation
and emission process
• Excellent temperature and chemical stability
• Excellent weathering fastness and lightfastness
• Limited influence on mechanical properties
• Formulated with low-concern substances

Color is reflective light.
Eventually, the color blocks enough light that it appears to be the correct color when viewed by eye.
The unfortunate twist to this solution is that different color ways need custom print parameters to achieve satisfactory results.
