Abstract
High performance clear TPE products
are developed to replace silicone and PVC in
various medical and personnel care applications.
These TPEs have
good processability.
Styrene Block Copolymer (SBC) is a
TPE that combine the processing characteristic
of thermoplastics and physical properties of
vulcanized rubbers.

Abstract
Overmolding thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) onto rigid thermoplastics has been an explosive trend
in the last decade.
Recently, many TPEs have been uniquely developed to bond to specific substrate
materials based on surface energy or polarity match between the elastomer and the thermoplastics.
Figure 1 shows the surface
energy match of various thermoplastic elastomers with rigid thermoplastics.

Cap Liners: Thermoplastic elastomers provide exceptional barrier seals while maintaining low torque for easy open characteristics.
Regulatory compliance for aqueous, acidic, alcohol and fatty food applications are available with GLS thermoplastic elastomers.
Caps, Closures & Containers: Thermoplastic elastomers play a big role in the design of ergonomically enhanced packages that can help aging users accomplish simple tasks such as opening a bottle of aspirin or a jar of coffee.
