After delivering
polypropylene-based samples from the Maxxam™ FR line
for immediate trial, the Avient team also worked with
the manufacturer to help them determine the best pair
combination design.
After Avient delivered test data for pair combinations and
the manufacturer’s team completed material trials, they
were able to replace FEP with Maxxam FR material in four
out of four insulation pairs.

https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2020-11/gls-acqua-plose-case-study.pdf
When closurelogic
turned to Avient for material selection help, the team
developed a GLS™ TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) based
on a stable, low migration TPE with a lower processing
temperature compared to competitive TPEs, thus
resulting in even fewer volatiles.
The Avient team addressed this
challenge with the new formulation, which is optimized
for compression set.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2022-10/Hoyt VITALPOINT Grip Case Study.pdf
Because every detail matters, the design team at
Hoyt sought to improve their grips to deliver the best
performance possible.
Working with the Avient Design team on our
VITALPOINT™ grip project was a big win for us.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2021-04/versalloy-medical-tubing-case-study.pdf
THE SOLUTION
In the course of their research into material options, the
manufacturer’s team invited Avient to suggest options
for an alternative TPV based on its global reputation
for superior products and service.
The Avient team
assessed the application’s technical and operational
requirements, and recommended GLS Versalloy™ XL-
9045-1 alloy in 45 Shore A durometer, an FDA-compliant
medical TPV grade designed for overmolding onto PP.
