GLS™ TPEs with Antimicrobial Technologies
This specialty line of GLS™ thermoplastic elastomers
has imbedded antimicrobial additives that inhibit
bacterial growth by 99.9% or more (log 3) and resist
fungal growth to protect molded plastic parts.
Developed for the preservation of high-touch
surfaces and applications, these formulations
contain antimicrobial additives that continuously
inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungus, and molds
that cause odor and detrimental aesthetic and
mechanical property changes to the finished plastic
part.

PRODUCT BULLETIN
APPLICATIONS
• Beverages
• Personal Care
• Consumer Goods
Compatible with:
• PET
• Injection blow molding
TECHNOLOGY COMPONENTS
Impress is formulated using an additive that adds
a brilliant ultra-glossy appearance to packaging
made with semi-crystalline polymers.
The additive
creates tiny bubbles inside the semi-crystalline
resins which, when stretched during blow molding,
reflect light and shine for a high gloss, metallic
appearance.
With other metallic effect additives, these
lines can appear on the surface of a polymer part
where molten plastic flow fronts meet during
processing.

PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDE
Microorganisms like fungi and bacteria are present
in all environments.
CESA™ Antimicro
additives inhibit the growth of microorganisms on
plastic articles, helping prevent unpleasant odors
and discoloration.
CESA ANTIMICRO – STANDARD OFFERINGS
CESA Antimicro additives can be used in combination with other CESA masterbatches, and formulations can be customized for most applications.

Building on the design concept from SurfCo, Avient
conducted additional R&D work to formulate a specialty
thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) that could be coextruded
with polypropylene (PP) film and meet the high
expectations of SurfCo and surfers everywhere.
In response to the tests, Avient leveraged
its expansive portfolio of specialty additives to tailor
the TPE for enhanced UV resistance and to inhibit mold
growth—leading to an end product that would perform
better for longer.
Charging ahead, the
company has continued to leverage Avient’s technology
and technical expertise to pursue the commercialization
of additional anti-skid products for marine and military
vessels, and non-slip products for the pool, bath, and
walkway markets.

Guided by their initiative to develop capabilities
that provide additional protection for soldiers while
reducing time and logistic requirements,1 the U.S.
It’s portable enough to be
airlifted into remote sites and provides quick protection
for troops with no additional equipment support
needed.
These panels successfully encapsulate the bullet,
preventing harmful ricochets and providing additional
safety to the warfighter.

We will deliver for our stakeholders through multiple value creation levers—many of
which are unique to Avient:
o Demand for sustainable solutions, healthcare, and composites, together with Clariant Color
revenue synergies, that will drive long-term revenue growth in excess of GDP
o Clariant Color cost synergy capture will result in significant near-term benefit
In addition, we remain committed to increasing annual dividends in line with earnings growth and
opportunistically buying back shares, all while remaining modestly levered.
