Solution
Avient leveraged Digimat to reverse-engineer material
data based on the microstructure, tensile test data,
and micro-mechanical modelling.
The Digimat material cards
accurately capture all three of the above phenomena.
This
observed variability in the material response highlights
the need for an advanced predictive approach for material
modelling that incorporates anisotropic data.

Is TPE the best material for
my products?
In the simplest terms, traditional TPE types
are made by combining a hard material
with a soft material, either chemically or by
a machine.
The material is not allergenic
and does not cause rashes.

All packaged raw materials shall include the Avient raw material SAP
code number and will not be compromised.
Off-specification material shall not be delivered
without prior written approval from Avient (except for Avient orders specifically of off-spec
material).
The cost associated with the disposition of defective material is solely the supplier’s responsibility
and Avient may request reimbursement for any cost incurred during the disposal of defective
material.

The first material is injected
through the primary runner system white the mold volume to be occupied by the
second material is shut off from the primary runner system.
Matching the surface energy on both materials is critical for
building specific interactions between materials.
TPE materials are quantified based on Shore hardness, which is a materials
resistance to indenture on a 6.3-mm minimum thickness molded plaque (ASTM
D2240).
