Sustainability Report | 2021 12
Revenue by
Geography and
End Market
The importance of sustainability is not limited by
geography or end market.
The
market for renewable energy is expanding quickly and there is tremendous market potential.
The market research and analysis.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2023-07/Avient-2022-Sustainability-Report.pdf
In the revenue by end market chart on the right, you can see the
preponderance now heavily focuses on less cyclical, more resilient
end markets.
The market continues to evolve, ranging from solar and wind to
fuel cells and hydrogen.
Our end markets are more diverse and less cyclical, better positioning us for unpredictable market conditions and
aligning focus toward areas of higher growth.

Special items for the fourth quarter of 2022 had a $(0.42)
impact on EPS and included acquisition-related costs that primarily consist of inventory step-up
adjustments, restructuring costs, debt extinguishment costs, and a pension market-to-market
adjustment.
2
On a pro forma basis, fourth quarter and full year adjusted EPS were $0.42 and $3.04, respectively,
which excludes special items and intangible amortization expense, exceeding previous guidance of
$0.33 and $2.95.
Factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from
those implied by these forward-looking statements include, but are not limited to: disruptions,
uncertainty or volatility in the credit markets that could adversely impact the availability of credit
already arranged and the availability and cost of credit in the future; the effect on foreign operations
of currency fluctuations, tariffs and other political, economic and regulatory risks; the current and
potential future impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business, results of operations, financial
position or cash flows including, without limitation, any supply chain and logistics issues; changes in
laws and regulations regarding plastics in jurisdictions where we conduct business; fluctuations in
raw material prices, quality and supply, and in energy prices and supply; production outages or
material costs associated with scheduled or unscheduled maintenance programs; unanticipated
developments that could occur with respect to contingencies such as litigation and environmental
matters; our ability to achieve strategic objectives and successfully integrate acquisitions, including
Avient Protective Materials; an inability to raise or sustain prices for products or services; our ability
to pay regular quarterly cash dividends and the amounts and timing of any future dividends;
information systems failures and cyberattacks; amounts for cash and non-cash charges related to
restructuring plans that may differ from original estimates, including because of timing changes
associated with the underlying actions; and other factors affecting our business beyond our control,
including without limitation, changes in the general economy, changes in interest rates, changes in
the rate of inflation and any recessionary conditions.

ADVANCED COMPOSITES
An exceptional alternative to traditional materials such
as wood, ceramic and metal, advanced composite
solutions enable designers to:
• Design lighter weight structural components for
increased lifetime performance and improved
fuel efficiency—higher strength-to-weight ratios
to exceed the structural performance of traditional
materials while significantly reducing weight—up
to 75% lighter than steel and up to 25% lighter
than aluminum
• Extend product lifetime to reduce part
replacement and decrease warranty expenses—
the corrosion, weather, flame and fatigue
resistance of composite solutions improve
component durability
• Reduce product lifecycle costs—the extended
product lifetime, along with the potential for
reduced installation time and cost due to the lighter
weight of composite solutions, significantly reduces
the associated cost over the lifetime of a part
• Lower energy costs—by leveraging a higher
strength-to-weight ratio, composite solutions
allow designers to engineer products that require
less energy or power during installation and use
• Increase competitive advantage—Avient
advanced composite solutions can be customized
to provide electrical insulation, thermal insulation,
radiopacity, low thermal expansion, flexural
memory and load damping, while delivering
desired performance and aesthetic specifications
