Mevopur™ Healthcare Bio-based Polymer Solutions
for Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Packaging
Manufacturers of medical devices and
pharmaceutical packaging are increasingly faced
with the challenge of integrating sustainability into
the design of their products.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
• Available for polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS,
polycarbonate and styrenics
• Bio-content of resin carrier varies from 70% to
100% depending on polymer—calculated to
ASTM D6866 standard
• Manufactured at four ISO 13485 certified sites,
providing global consistency and security of
supply
• Documented change control beyond CAS
number, reducing risk of change
• Drop-in solutions that can be processed like
fossil-based grades on common injection
molding and extrusion machines
• Can be provided as ready-to-use pre-colored
or additive formulation
REGULATORY SUPPORT
• Raw materials tested to:
- ISO 10993-1
- USP and (incl. class VI)
- European Pharmacopeia, monograph 3.1.3/
3.1.5 (polyolefin packaging materials)
- USP (polyethylene)
- Elemental impurities as per ICH Q3D
• Registered Drug Master File (Type III) and/or
Device Master File
• Food contact according to US FDA and

BIC Amplifies Sustainable Design with Avient Recycled-Content Material for Soleil Click 5 Women’s Razor Handle
The company’s approach to product design is deeply rooted in the principles of the circular economy and BIC’s 4R philosophy: reducing the amount of raw materials, including as much recycled or alternative materials as possible, making more refillable products, and improving the recyclability of both products and packaging.

FOAMING PREDICITION SERVICE
Avient Design uses Autodesk® Moldflow® simulation
software1 to provide 3D simulations of parts foamed
with Hydrocerol™ Chemical Foaming Agents during
the mold filling phase.
This software is used to
predict the material behavior during this process
and, as a result, we can provide the potential
weight reduction, mechanical properties of the final
foamed part, and recommendations for optimal tool
design*.
The service is currently
available for standard injection molding processes.

With faster material lead times, manufacturers of 5th generation (5G) antennas can qualify designs faster and
meet the demands of rapidly deploying 5G infrastructures.
Specific Dk Material – Our custom formulations
give your antenna design the specific Dk needed,
beween 3.0 Dk and 9.0 Dk.
Further, injection-
moldable materials allow for unique antenna
designs and complex shapes, while only simple
shapes are possible when using traditional
materials.

(API) of Gainesville, Texas, a
manufacturer of plastic pipe components, saw an opportunity
to design a flapper valve that could improve upon traditional
brass valves and enable non-corrosive, all-plastic piping
systems.
Design freedom = unique product offering: The
ability to injection mold Gravi-Tech materials instead of
machining brass enabled API to design a cost-effective,
full-opening flapper valve that is 100% pigable
Use of existing tooling = lower capital costs: API was
able to use the same mold originally designed for nylon
to run the Gravi-Tech materials, saving the substantial
costs of retooling.
