Mars Otomotiv’s engineering team was on the hot seat.  The Mars Otomotiv engineering team needed to eliminate all of these issues by finding a different material for the heat sinks. The search led Kruunutekniikka’s design engineering team to Avient. A collaborative team from the two companies looked at potential options before developing a material that combined two grades of Avient’s Therma-Tech™ thermal management formulations.  The team tested the formulation and phased it into production, and Kruunutekniikka’s Coolics™ brand quickly adopted the material throughout its line of customized LED cooling systems.

When this manufacturer approached Avient to explore solutions, it explained how customers had a hard time deciding which equipment was genuine and which was pirated. As the Avient team looked into the differences, it found that the customer was marking its genuine articles with direct or indirect hot stamp foil and ink methods. THE SOLUTION The Avient team proposed multiple solutions—including a laser-marking additive, an authentication additive, and colorant—bundled into a single Smartbatch™ concentrate.

Liking what they heard, the engineers decided to team up with Avient specialists in polymer distribution, colorants and additives to tackle the issue. Working together, the team developed a natural ABS formulation with an additive package that provided consistent color along with heat-stabilizing properties.
