To help us improve and progress on our journey, we recently sought and obtained the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care certification. Pursuant to the policy, any nominee for election as a Director of the Board who receives a greater number of votes “withheld” from his or her election than votes “for” his or her election in an election of Directors that is not a contested election is expected to tender his or her resignation as a Director to the Board promptly following the certification of the election results.

The achievement of a new GRS certificate marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact while providing high-performance products. The certification is further demonstration that Avient’s offerings meet sustainability requirements under this renowned standard and a compelling recognition of Avient’s approach to corporate social responsibility,” said Say-Eng Lee, vice president and general manager, Color & Additives Asia. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary, full-product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.

The more complex the finished product, the more involved certification would be – delaying the return on any new investment. This would reduce costs, ease certification and – by eliminating secondary extrusion processes – effectively increase manufacturing capacity.
