FLEXCART™ MELT INJECTION SYSTEM
FlexCart™ Melt Injection (M.I.) units and PlanetPak™
containers are the equipment components of
Avient’s proprietary liquid metering systems.
FlexCart M.I. is the system specifically designed
to deliver liquid colorants directly into molten processes
at pressures up to 200 bar.
VALUE BENEFITS OF USING THE
FLEXCART SYSTEM
FlexCart & PlanetPak components create a market leading
metering technology:
• Robust and reliable system control
• Reliable yield (99%) and sustainable packaging
• Capability of data networking and remote
internet support
• Reduced changeover cost with interchangeable cassettes

The hose manufacturer decided to explore other material options that would meet requirements such as excellent colorability, good surface appearance, high flow for optimal productivity, and of course, compliance with U.S.
In addition to its excellent colorability and high flow, the Versalloy solution possessed a lower specific gravity and resulted in lower scrap rates compared to the competitive TPV, providing the opportunity to reduce system costs.
Higher productivity: The improved flow properties of the Versalloy solution enabled the hose manufacturer to increase throughput by two seconds, which in turn reduced total system costs.

The new Edgetek formulations also can help electronic component manufacturers to miniaturize mechanical and electrical (also known as mechatronics) systems, even in high heat manufacturing processes, such as SMT (surface mount technology).
Sectors related to 5G, including infrastructure, will drive future applications that create high demand for 3D MID (LDS) technology and materials.
