– PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers today announced the launch of an overmolding technology based on Versaflex™ VDT thermoplastic elastomer (TPEs), developed for vibration and impact damping applications.
To address this unmet need, we created a new solution that demonstrates our ongoing investment in breakthrough TPE technologies to benefit customers.”
Versaflex VDT overmolding grades deliver the same great vibration and impact damping performance as the original Versaflex VDT technology, exceeding most thermoset solutions while offering the advantage of thermoplastic design flexibility.

Shock absorbing TPEs are the latest technology developed by PolyOne specifically for phone cases.
The Shinyei Technology Drop Tower D-202 Series dropped each phone case three times, on the same corner of the phone, at each drop height.

In addition, experts from the company will make 15-minute Tech Talk presentations daily at the PolyOne exhibit (Hall B5, Stand 5316) to help plastics processors quickly learn more about these advanced technologies.
PolyOne also will present an update to the unique 3D-MID (three dimensional molded interconnect device) manufacturing technology it highlighted at its stand during Fakuma 2014.
The technology is successful largely due to the thermally conductive properties of PolyOne’s Therma-Tech™ engineered polymers.

Cross-linking technology: Cross-linking can be done in a variety of ways.
Sioplas technology does not require this investment, as cross-linking occurs with ambient moisture after processing.
They are cross-linked using sioplast technology and offer good processing and line speeds.

To address these challenges, new additive technologies have been developed with recycling in mind.
This new technology boasts lower levels of sublimation, does not cause mold deposition, and has a lower risk of exceeding regulatory migration thresholds.
In addition, the importance of simulating the mechanical recycling process to design new additive technologies cannot be overstated.
