NEW MATERIAL
FOR PRECISELY
ENGINEERED VEHICLE
Challe
nge Accepted.
The technical services team at Avient worked closely
with the European material engineering team at
DENSO under the lead of Mr.
Avient engineered a new customized formulation for the
part, which provided both the processability required
for extremely short cycle injection-compression
molding, as well as including an additive to stabilize
the material when in contact with copper.

CASE STUDY: VERSAFLEX™ THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
Challe
nge Accepted.
The
manufacturer produces 7.5 million cases per year, and
was using liquid injection molded (LIM) silicone for this
part.
Because low durometer (softer) material is a
requirement for this application, the manufacturer
considered a switch to a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).

Cesa™ Stat Antistatic Additives
Cesa™ Stat Antistatic Additives control the buildup
of static charges in thermoplastic parts, enabling
them to dissipate by absorbing and ionizing
moisture from the air, which forms a conductive
path for surface static charges.
This static buildup can then cause the
resulting parts, film or sheet to cling to one another,
or stick to the mold or tool.
These static charges can also remain in parts well
after production, causing them to attract and
collect oppositely charged dust—on an automotive
dashboard, for example—or creating unwanted
charges on the surface of electrical equipment.

ColorMatrix Select is part of a package of color focused

Since
pioneering the development of liquid color
dispersions in the 1970s, ColorMatrix is now a
leading innovation brand in advanced liquid
colorants for thermoplastic applications.
